Hares Hill Bridge is Open!

The 151-year old bridge in Phoenixville is open for travel once again.

The bridge on Hares Hill Road was closed in June in order to complete an improvement project, and now boasts reconstructed wingwalls and stone masonry.

Additionally, a plaque commemorating this 2018 rehabilitation was included as well.

This bridge is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places due to it being the last surviving example of Thomas William Moseley’s patented “Wrought Iron Girder Bridge.”

With its recent opening, the 4900 people who used to drive over it everyday can get their commutes back on track!

Thank you to PennDOT and J.D. Eckman Inc., who restored this historic bridge!
