With back to school right around the corner, students should be finishing up their summer reading. At Phoenixville’s elementary schools and middle school there are many different options for summer reading. At the elementary schools, there is a new option this year. Each student has a choice of either a reading passport where students read at least one fiction book and one non-fiction book and answer questions about each. Another option is a reading bingo where a child reads a different book for each square with different challenges on them. At the middle school students going into sixth grade read one book off of a list while students entering seventh and eighth grade each read two books. The books on the list are chosen from the prior school years reading olympic’s list. On the list there are many different genres of books like realistic fiction, non-fiction, and even graphic novels. All grades must answer four questions for each book read. So if you’re a student at PASD make sure you’ve completed your Summer Reading before school starts again.
